New York JFK Airport is very well supported by the different modes of transportation available around the area, with buses, taxis, trains and even limousines all on offer at every terminal. For travellers wanting to arrange such transportation there are counters in each terminal building that can be found on the lower baggage claim level.
Train Services
For passengers travelling to New York JFK Airport, an excellent option is to take the Long Island Rail Road or alternatively the subway to either Jamaica Station, or Howard Beach Station. Travellers heading out of the airport are best served by taking the AirTrain to Jamaica or Howard Beach stations then catching the relevant train from there.
Taxi Services
The great thing about taking a taxi from the airport is that there is a flat fare for passengers going to Manhattan, a policy designed to welcome visitors to the city and one that works well. The current rate is in the region of $45. Any other destination within the New York City limits is metered, Manhattan being the exception due to it’s popularity with tourists.
Bus Services
Travelling from New York City both the Transit and Green line buses have a variety of services that will get travellers to either Jamaica or Howard Beach station, from where the AirTrain will whisk them into the airport itself.
